MUA Lipstick Shade 11 & 16 - Review & Swatches

Helloo ladies.today i am going to do a review on MUA lipsticks.MUA lipsticks are raved about many bloggers so i thought to give them a try. keep on reading to find out my experience with these lipsticks

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 (Nectar) & 11

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 (Nectar) & 11

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 (Nectar) & 11

According to MUA

Girls, there is nothing better than lipstick. Apart from maybe lipstick that costs just £1! Ok definitely lipstick that costs just £1. Don't say we're not good to you. Our amazing lipsticks come in 16 shades from red to pink and nude and are packed full of pigmentation. With just one swipe you'll have fantastic colour pay off resulting in gorgeous lips! Why not pick a shade you've not tried before and get a new look? It is just £1 after all...did we already mention that?

My thought

the fact that these lipsticks cost such a wee amount of money is amazing so if you go wrong with a shade it won't be a burden on your pocket.the lipstick comes in a black colored plastic packaging which does not look cheap if you consider the price tag.The packaging is bit flimsy though, and the lids won't hold tight but this is not a high end branded lipstick right? the colored bottom of the lipstick is remove able, unscrewing it would reveal a pot of some extra lipstick. the colored bottom idea makes it very convenient to pick up the shade you want from your stash.

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 & 11 - Swatched (multiple swipes)

from my experience i have found both the lipstick differ in color pigmentation and payoff

MUA Shade 11

shade 11 is warm pink toned nude and its my favourite shade of the two, it is everyday wearable kind of shade.the formula is creamy and sheer on application, it actually feels like a lip butter on the lips and its moisturising as well, with just one swipe it gives a pretty natural pink color to the lips and yes the color is buildable. As the lipstick is sheer it stays for two hours on me and fades evenly.i really like the vanilla scent of lipstick but once applied the scent slowly disappears.

MUA Shade 16 (Nectar)

well to be honest i am regretting buying this shade.MUA lipstick shade 16 is named Nectar, the lipstick bullet looks neon orange but on application its a sheer peachy orange shade.the color doesn't compliment my fair to medium skin tone at all, i think the color is not meant for Asian skin tones it would rather suit more paler or darker skin tones.moreover it's nothing like the shade 11, the texture is pretty dry,it settles into the fine lines of the lips and emphasise any dry flakes.the application is uneven but buildable after multiple swipes.it really bothers me how these lipsticks are from same range yet so different.well good thing is its just for £1 so you can not complain with such price tag .but still i couldn't throw it away in my stash not getting any use out of it.so i thought of a way to make it use able.

MUA Lipstick Shade 16 (Nectar) - Applied

there is another thing i am not liking, which is MUA love hearts lip balm" Great lips".well its not that it didn't work for me, it certainly is a great lip balm but i didn't like the color it's kind of a nude color which makes me look dead.

so i found a way to use both of them.i apply a single coat of mua nectar than with my finger i apply great lips over it.it gives a really pretty nude color to my lips which doesn't make me look dead or washed out..and i also use this over my body shop strawberry born lippy to add a hint of peachy pink color.

this experience was kinda love or hate for me but i would love to venture into other shades by MUA.because for just £1 these lipstick are worth the shot

i would rate them 3.5/5

Pros

  • Incredibly inexpensive
  • Creamy and sheer formula
  • Pretty colors
  • Buildable application
  • Some extra lipstick
  • Sweet vanilla scent

Cons

  • Pigmentation varies from color to color
  • Some colors could be a bit dry
  • Uneven application

My thought

After reading some great reviews about the lipsticks by colorstudio i decide to try out one.these lipsticks come in 18 different shaded, the shade i picked up is a vibrant orange color.normally i try to avoid such vibrant colors but when i swatched the lipsticks i really liked the color and thought i should have such colors too.

lipstick comes in a black colored plastic packaging,i am impressed with the packaging its simple and sturdy and like the fact that these lipsticks are named.

Color Rush Lipstick "Jet Setter" - Swatch

now comes the application, its a matte color creamy in texture and glides smoothly, keeps the lips hydrated and moisturised.it doesn't bleed out or dry on the lips, stays for 3-4 hours on me. one thing i really like about it that it fades evenly and after fading leaves a light hint of the color on the lips.the color is too vibrant for daily use so i don't wear it often, sometimes i apply this color and than pat my lips with tissue paper and apply some nude color lip gloss and believe me it gives such a nice color to the lips.i am so gonna have the other colors too.

Color Rush Lipstick "Jet Setter"

Pros

  • creamy formula
  • glides smoothly
  • moisturising
  • long staying power
  • budget friendly
  • sturdy packaging

Cons

  • couldn't find any

i will rate this lipstick 4.5/5

Golden Rose 2000 Lipsticks - Review & Swatches

howdy guyys :) i haven't reviewed a lipstick yet so today i am going to review my two Golden Rose Lipsticks 129 and 105

Golden Rose 2000 Lipsticks

Golden Rose 2000 Lipsticks

Product Description

This creamy and soft lipstick hydrates the lips and will wear for hours - available in 49 shades

129 Mauve                               105 Pale Orange

My thought

lipstick is a symbol of femininity and a must have when it comes to makeup, some quality lipsticks are what we need to complete our makeup collection but what do we expect from a quality lipstick - to be homogenous when applied to lips, good color payoff, easy to glide without the greasy feeling, lasting hold, comforting and protecting.

the Golden Rose lipsticks meet most of the expections, the formula is creamy in texture and glides on smoothly without feathering.these lipsticks are listed as matte ones on the website but these are not completely matte they have some glossy finish, matte lipsticks are not considered to be hydrating but these really haydrate the lips (i did'nt expect this) also the staying power is fairly good they stay put upto 3 hours on me.

the lipsticks come in silver colored plastic packaging, personally i dont like the packaging it could have been better.the lipsticks are numbered but the colors are not described on the packaging (Golden rose have mentioned the colors on the website)..atleast they should have put on the lipstick colored sticker to make it convinient to select the shade.

129 is listed as Matte finish - Mauve, its a pretty maroonish pink color.

105 is listed as Matte finish - Pale Orange, its a peachy coral color.

129 Mauve                                  105 Pale Orange

i like both colors but pale orange is my favourite

105 - with flash

105 - without flash

Pros

  • creamy texture
  • hydrating
  • good staying power
  • inexpensive

Cons

  • packaging
  • scent of the lipstick

i will rate these 4.7/5

Price    325 PKR (each)
